Until about 20 years ago, Italy was the first oil producer in the world, today we are behind Spain.
Spain in recent years has made 4 extraordinary olive oil plans to replace old and unproductive plants with new ones. It was a courageous choice, though one that was studied using plants capable of withstanding pests or climatic changes.
In Italy, however, we did not have the courage to do the same and today Spain produces four times more than Italy.
In carpentry it is certainly not Spain that can bother us for now, but there are countries that in recent years have made large investments in automation.
This is even worse, where the average level of training is higher than that found in Italian carpentries.
As I’ve been saying for some time now, ignorance and lack of vision are lethal… and even the companies producing Made in Italy olive oils have understood this reality.
But maybe it’s too late …..
